1-to-1 Dog Training & Behaviour in Plymouth and Online

Whether it’s reactivity, pulling on the lead, no recall, lack of focus or any other life skill struggle, it can have a huge impact on you.

But here’s the thing.

The behaviour we see in our dogs can come from many places. Sometimes it’s their experiences or learning, sometimes it’s their genes or breed traits, sometimes it’s more physical, maybe a gut issue or discomfort due to arthritic joints.

Often, it can be a mix of all these things.

As a reward-based dog trainer, canine fitness trainer, researcher and canine massage therapist, I bring a unique blend of skills to help your dog. And with a specialisation in pain identification, I make sure we’re addressing the right issues.

And wherever you’re based in Plymouth, I can help. I run a training and behaviour clinic at Happy Pets in Roborough or I provide home visits (following an online or telephone consultation).

Supporting the physical & mental wellbeing of your dog

V Harrison and Barney

“Very proud of Barney! We’ve been doing circuits in the garden all week and he’s walking so well. He’s now super responsive to the ‘nice’ DMT system and it’s helping him to cope with all of the garden distractions. We’ve got people digging in the field behind us, work going on next door and a psycho pair of kittens running around and he’s bossing it.”

1-to-1 Dog Training Clinic

  1. 1-to-1 Session

We’ll go through your dog’s history and what your goals are. These sessions are great for common struggles, such as pulling on the lead and recall.

Then we’ll practice some techniques which include management and training strategies.

2. Flexible Training Plan

Together, we’ll develop a plan to:

  • Manage the current situation

  • Select the training and strategies most suited to you both

  • You’ll receive a follow-up email covering what was discussed and the recommended training

3. Cost

The training clinic is held at Happy Pets Doggy Daycare, PL6 7DD on Saturdays and Sundays (the unit is empty at these times)

You can have as many, or as few sessions as you need.
One sessions is £45/hour or book a block of three sessions for £125

P Hill and Cooper

“The service Tracey provides, and the help she has given Cooper over time has given him a much better quality of life as he starts his double figure life. Highly recommend is still so short of the way I actually feel knowing I have my best friend back wanting to do things with me again, and I’m forever thankful that somebody actually cares about my dog instead of fobbing me off”

Comprehensive Canine Behaviour Programme

  1. 1-to-1 Sessions

These sessions are more suited to complex behaviour struggles where you need more support. We’ll start with an initial consultation via Zoom. This allows me to get all the background information and to discuss any management strategies you can put in place straight away. We’ll go through your dog’s history, struggles and what your goals are.

Then, we’ll have three in-depth sessions. If you’re local to Plymouth, it is possible to have these either in your own home, or out and about, depending on the needs of you and your dog.

However, online sessions also work really well! Having a trainer in your home can be stressful for you and your dog, especially if your dog struggles around visitors or you feel as though you have to perform for the trainer.

2. Flexible Training Plan

We’ll develop a plan to:

  • Manage the current situation

  • Select the training and strategies most suited to you both

  • You’ll receive a follow-up email covering what was discussed and the recommended training

  • Access to video demos and hand-outs where appropriate

  • Weekly email check-ins throughout the course of the programme

3. Cost

The comprehensive programme covers Plymouth and costs £275.

Includes an initial consultation either over the phone or on Zoom, followed by three in-person sessions which must be used within 3 months.
